Each year, we honor one individual and one organization that has been involved in the betterment of Salem City with the Pedersen-Campbell awards. This year, we are excited to announce that we have added a new category---- the 'Rising Star' ---- which is awarded to a person under thirty who is involved in our community and has the drive to make real change happen.
Every year, our annual dinner provides important funding for our programs.
For this year's annual dinner, we are reflective of what we've accomplished and are committed to building a strong foundation for Salem City. We are grateful for our partnerships and the community members who dedicate their time to our incredible city. Together, we can accomplish so much. The next couple of years are crucial to the future of Salem City. With so many investments coming in, our community deserves a strong platform for success.
At Stand Up for Salem, a large focus is providing education to ready local residents with skills and support for well paying trade careers at our Historic Building Arts Training Center. In the same vein, we created our Small Business Incubator, which is home to Salem City entrepreneurs. Each incubator business is given valuable education and resources, so that they can have a strong foundation for success.
Additionally, our resident and small business support has strengthened over the past year. We have provided support and resources through Hires Avenue Garden, Salem Main Street, Mom Squad, as well as Heart & Soul. Our community events and creative placemaking engage the community and aim to inspire locals to gather and get involved.
Understanding that our community deserves a central space to gather, we are happy to announce that we have secured a grant to renovate a space downtown for just that. We are honored to be in the position to create this space, as it is a building block for a stronger Salem.
It takes so many who care to make big things happen, but we are confident that, together, we can build the promising future that Salem City deserves.
